Useful instructions for our patients
- before cubital tunnel surgery patients have to, according to our instructions, do blood tests and an examination with an internal specialist with ECG
- if the patient uses medication for blood coagulation, he is obliged to mention it during the examination, because it is sometimes necessary to adjust their dosage
- the patient has to be on an empty stomach on the day of the operation
- the operation usually lasts for an hour and the patient is discharged a couple of hours after the surgery for home care in Zagreb
- the first examination after the surgery is usually 2 days following the operation when the drain is removed, and two weeks after the surgery we remove the stitches. After removing the stitches, we start with exercising the elbow and massaging the scar with a hydrating cream. Driving will be possible a week after the surgery and the full use of the hand is expected 6 weeks after the operation.
- we advise our patients to stay in Zagreb for 3 to 7 days, depending on the case
- it is required to take approximately two weeks of sick leave after this procedure, depending on the type of job
