LIPOSUCTION – HYDROLIPOSUCTION - LIPOSCULPTURE FOR IDEAL SHAPING OF THE BODY Not that long ago a rounded female body was considered a symbol of sexuality. Today's idea of beauty is a youthful, regularly proportioned look. A woman's natural size may be considered to be an imperfection. Superficial layers of fat tissue can be significantly biodegraded by various cosmetic and physical treatments (massages, physical training, etc.). But layers of real fat tissue in the form of obstinate fatty pads cannot be removed in this way. Liposuction is the only way to permanently remove cellulite, fatty cells and their deposits, from certain places. Accumulation of substantial deposits of fat tissue gives the skin an unaesthetic, perforated look (like an orange peel), which we call cellulite. It usually accumulates in a double chin, upper arm, waist area, lower part of the abdomen, thighs and the inside of the knees. The distribution of fat tissue on our body is determined by two factors: hereditary (genetic factor) and our eating habits (nutritional factor). G ENETIC FACTOR determines, during puberty, the location and number of fatty cells that will develop. After puberty the number and distribution of cells is finalized. The size of the cells is determined by the NUTRITIONAL FACTOR. Fat people have large and swollen cells while slim people have smaller ones. If a person has a high number of fat cells on his / her thighs and a small number on his/ her breasts, then that person is always going to have fat thighs. We can often see slim women with fat pads on certain areas of their body. The removal of cellulite by liposuction is particularly successful on persons who are not too fat. Liposuction is a surgical procedure by which cellulite is selectively removed from the parts of the body where it has accumulated. A narrow tube is inserted into a small incision in the skin (0.5cm) and used to remove the fatty layer by vacuum. This way, fatty cells are permanently removed from the area. These days HYDROLIPOSUCTION is considered to be the most successful method of liposuction. It includes the injection of a pH saline that contains capillary contraction agents. In this way the size of the area being treated is temporarily increased. This helps to achieve nicer body contours. The suction of blood is less but a greater quantity of pure cellulite is extracted with the help of the capillary contraction agents. I have been using this procedure for 13 years and in my experience this is a much more efficient method when compared to others. Shaping the ideal body (so called body shaping, body contouring or liposculpture) can also be accomplished by this method of hydroliposuction using micro-instruments. Using this method, straight column-like legs, for example, can have the lower part (above the ankle) reshaped which, previously, would have been inconceivable. Today's procedures require the patient to wear special compressive cloths (various corsets/ braces) on the treated area(s) after surgery. These corsets are worn for the 6 weeks after surgery. As early as 7 days after the operation a massage is recommended to assist fluid drainage and better blood circulation because this helps with the reduction of swelling. The patient should take 3 to 10 days sick leave, depending on the extent of the treatment. Liposuction is done under general anesthetic when the operation is extensive (abdomen, thighs). When cellulite needs to be removed from narrower area of the body (around knees, double chin, etc.) the operation is done under local anesthetic with a sedative. USEFUL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PATIENT
